Microsoft will no longer produce mice, keyboards and webcams under the brand of the same name, reports The Verge, citing the company. The company first released a mouse under its own brand in 1983.

The manufacturer will focus on a line of accessories for computers under the Surface brand. It will include mice, keyboards, pens, docking stations, adapters and more. The company will sell inventory of Microsoft-branded hardware at the same prices.
There are already Surface-branded keyboards and mice in stores, but they cost more. For example, Surface Ergonomic Keyboard is $129, Microsoft is $59.99. Microsoft has not specified whether they will launch a line of low-cost accessories.
Microsoft's technology revenue, including Surface, PC accessories, and HoloLens augmented reality glasses, fell 30% year-on-year in the third quarter of fiscal year 2023 (ended March 31).
