Approaching 50 - Midlife and all that...

I wonder how many of you out there are my age. An age that takes on a whole new adventure. For some it may have been predicted and planned, and for others, like me, are in a place and time of life they never could have planned or predicted. If you are lucky and are exactly where you planned to be at this point in life, maybe transitioning into retirement thoughts, excited about the empty nest, grandkids, enjoying having already "been there done that" having climbed the ladder of your career, and maybe the ability to escape to a vacation destination or second home on a more regular basis. Maybe it's simpler - enjoying returning to a past-time you enjoyed before marriage and kids, just more time, period. Kudos!! Way to go!! You rock!!

If, however, you are like me and mid-life came in the form of an un-planned divorce and abrupt ending to a lifetime passion that had consumed your time for the past 20+ years - diving headlong onto a road NEVER traveled, and not a clue where it or yourself, were going. In a nutshell - EVERYTHING changed... well, then maybe we can compare notes, share laughs and tears together as we are forced to dig deep and find out what we are made of. Pull up our "big girl panties", "suck up your chinstrap and get in the game" and find "whatever blows our hair back"... sit back, hang on and enjoy the ride!

That's where I am. My writing here will attempt to share the experience as I saw it happening. I hope it will be a good read for someone. If not, even if it serves only myself, getting it "out there" - it will still be invaluable to me. If you choose to pass on reading through my ramblings, my feelings will not be hurt.
