It's starting to look like a combination of abortion rights and election denialism had significant, measurable, statewide effects that benefited Democrats in places were these state-level issues.
For example, if a Republican gubernatorial candidate or Senate candidate was an election denier, Democratic voters turned out better and Democratic candidates perform better across the state.
The same is true when there was an abortion measure on the ballot.
In states where you had no statewide Republican candidate engaging in election denialism and no abortion ballot measures, Republicans performed as expected under these circumstances (a first term midterm election, high inflation, etc.) and there was not an unusual spike in Democratic voter turnout.
Remember: fuck Trump, and fuck his supporters and enablers, and fuck the people that embraced him so that they could overturn abortion rights.
