The death of Saul, king of Israel: How the mighty have fallen! The weapons of war have perished! 2 Samuel 1:27

The second book of Samuel is centered on the life of David and his reign, and as a central fact in the development of the book appears the death of King Saul. King Saul was a great warrior during his lifetime, but he had a quick temper that led him to try to kill his servant David several times. David while Saul reigned in the kingdom of Israel, feared for his life many times, but David trusted in the Lord and his wisdom, and God protected him.
David was a young man filled with the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) and because of this spiritual Gift, which is essentially a predisposition of the heart towards meekness and the aversion of evil, David never hated Samuel, even sparing Saul's life during a persecution.
But the Bible tells us that Saul at the end of his days had to render an account to the Lord, and thus he died in a battle against the Philistines. David was never happy about Saul's death, in David the word of the Lord was always present: "Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles" Proverbs 24:17.
This is how the Bible tells us how David's reaction was to the news: "Then David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the LORD and for the nation of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword" 2 Samuel 1:11-12.
And as with all transcendent events in the Bible, that these are always accompanied by a lament or a song; so was David's lament for Saul and his family:
"Daughters of Israel,
weep for Saul,
who clothed you in scarlet and finery,
who adorned your garments with ornaments of gold.
How the mighty have fallen in battle!
Jonathan lies slain on your heights.
I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother;
you were very dear to me.
Your love for me was wonderful,
more wonderful than that of women.
´How the mighty have fallen!
The weapons of war have perished!´" 2 Samuel 1:24-27.
