Before you call Nike unpatriotic and an insult to the troops, please put aside your toxic partisanship and allow me to educate yourself about the extensive efforts Nike and fellow apparel and footwear companies make in securing safety for our troops.

I remember meeting with representatives of these companies when we lobbied Congressional representatives to enforce regulations on supply sourcing.

What kind of regulations might you ask?

Consider this: American soldiers are deployed in a war zone. Your uncle, brother, niece, etc. are fighting in the dark. Two soldiers are wearing two different uniforms. One is made by Nike through United States manufacturers only. The other soldier wears a uniform that was mass produced in an Afghani manufacturing plant.

One of these soldiers in this hypothetical but very realistic scenario dies because their camo suits haven't passed proper standards and pings brightly under the enemies night vision goggles. The other wore Nike uniforms. The other survived because Nike spent money made from your purchases to ensure their products were manufactured under regulations passed by their lobbyists and not by knockoff competitors.
