A continuation from my previous post on "The Revelation - Have You Been A Good Kid ? I Hope You Didn't"

I want to talk about the generalization of the grown up kid and how the kid will fare in the today's society.
The Millennials (Gen Y).
Typically born in the 1980s - 1990s, mainly characterized by their obsession with media consumption and technological prowess. Compared to their parents, they are criticized as being lazy and always carry a sense of entitlement.
*1.They are said to be very quick-witted and will not hesitate to take the shorter path to their daily task.
Is that necessarily a bad thing ? Isn't working today means having to do things efficiently ?
*2.They are lazy.
I don't disagree with this. In fact, I disagree that there ever was generation where there are ZERO lazy people at all. There are always going to be bad apples, why must this generation take the full brunt of the blame?
*3.They have no priority.
They just have different priorities. The forefathers have always placed at utmost importance on the livelihood of their immediate family, making sure that they have food and shelter even during the toughest of times. This is cultivated mainly during the turbulent era where wars are abundant, with a different way of life.
Physical war may be less than non-existent today, save for a few missiles from the great supreme leader of the north. What I want to say is, it is not fair to use the same scale to measure everyone which generational gap is so wide.
*4.Work-Life Balance
Gen Y typically request for a shorter or flexible working hours. While this does not in anyway showcase that Gen Y are lazy or even too efficient, they just do not see the point in sitting in the office doing nothing when they have actually completed the work 2 hours before. This is in distinct contrast compared to the baby boomers; known to be a hardworking bunch, where 60 hours work week is a common sight even among the least of workaholics.
You see what I just did there ? I just generalized the baby boomers to be a hardworking bunch. Yup, it feels good when its a compliment, but what if it's the other way round ?
I find that generalizing anyone or any generation to be discriminatory and insulting, be it for the good or bad. Why is this generalization becoming a norm nowadays ? Why can't we just accept that this is simply a reflection of the market and not blame the entirety of the generation ?
