Let's break the silence!!

Today i was on facebook and i saw a post that made me sick to my stomach. The person behind the post said and I quote,”women should be told in clear and unequivocal terms that indecent dressing constitutes sexual harassment.that women who dress indecently have entered into a contract with men who are sick upstairs. Unlike women men are aroused by what they see and not necessarily what they hear.”

I am so sick and tired of men trying to justify rape. Rape is rape doesn’t matter what I was wearing , where it happened , when it happened and there is nothing that can possibly justify a man forcing himself on a woman. It is disgusting that a grown learned man could post something so disgusting on social media.
I am so tired of hearing men say that what a woman wears is a contributing factor to rape. Oh so before I leave the house I should stop by the mirror and go like “Aah does this outfit make me look rapeable today..?” Stop with the excuses already . We all have sisters , mothers ,wives who at times put on short things . I don’t see the men in that house pounce on them like hungry hyenas. Men are aroused by what they see this is rubbish. When I’m walking down the street in my short skirt (which btw I’m comfortable in ) I don’t see no man try to do anything. Why wait till I’m in a dark corner or alley for you to try do it. I’ve heard about old women being raped by their sons ,grown men forcing themselves on small kids (You should be ashamed of yourselves ) so were they also dressed indecently.?

We ’ve gone swimming with our friends who are hardly wearing anything,who are barely covered . Why don’t we drag them by the side of the pool if they’re asking for it from how they’re dressed. Society teaches us how not to be raped . Why though ? Why not teach men how to respect a woman and how not to rape. You know what the most despicable thing is,When fathers rape their daughters . How would you do that to your own flesh and blood . Why would you do that to your small little girl?

Sometimes a woman dresses how she does to feel sexy .when a woman feels sexy she automatically becomes confident she becomes unstoppable and an unstoppable woman is everything . Doesn’t matter how decent it is or how indecent it is . It doesn’t matter if it shows everything and if it does , its not yours to touch . It’s not for you to sample. It’s such a shame that till date we have men with the mentality that when a woman wears something she’s asking for it .well supposing she’s asking for it who says she’s asking for it from you .?

No matter what a woman is wearing if she says no it’s a no . It doesn’t matter if she’s naked , half naked or fully dressed. Men should be able to control themselves . Win a woman over….win her trust , her love and if she wishes then you can also have the rest .
It’s high time we stop blaming women for their misfortune . Lets not agree that for a woman to be violated there has to be some fault on her part . Let ’s not blame it on those with mental illnesses.let ’s not justify it by saying that men get turned on by what they see . Let ’s simply agree that rape is rape and cannot be justified . The pain is too much to bear. The mental stress that women go through once raped is simply unexplainable , let ’s not even go to the trauma they experience. Some even get pregnant and as much as a child is a blessing , that child is a constant reminder of what you experienced and can ’t take back.

Let ’s stop trying to come up with excuses and condemn such behaviour .lets be there for those who have had to go through this and help them get by one day at a time. My heart breaks for those who have had to experience this and I hope justice is served accordingly .
