October is known as the month when most horror movies are produced and watched, due to the festivities whose theme is horror are occuring in this month. For instance, Halloween. The horror movies' industry has rised in the last decades in addition to the big number of its viewers, downloads and purchase of its CDs. This leads us to main questions: Why are people into horror movies, then? And, why do people feel that need to experience the pleasure of these emotions? Why do they choose watching horror, bloody, murder scenes as well instead of peaceful scenes ?
Professor Glenn Walter, who is a psychologist, has answered these questions and said that there are 3 factors which push individuals to watch horror movies. The first reason is tension. In fact, producers introduce this feeling by including different scenes of ambiguity, excitement, blood, panic and trauma too. The second factor is the relationship with reality. Actually, the horror movies include things the viewers can easily identify, understand and relate to his personal life. To illustrate, some films deal with global issues such as thanatophobia(The fear of death) and also the fear of the unknown in order to gain more viewers in all over the world. On the other hand, some film tend to introduce some global topics which belong to widespread cultures or religions' rituals like the christian culture in "The nun" or islamic culture seen in the turkish film "Siccin". In addition to the personal relationship, in which the viewer feels a connection between him and the charachters or feel hatred towards the character of the enemy in the film. Finally, according to Walter, the last factor is illusion. Although the horror films industry has got much better. In other words, scenes are getting closer to real scenes of murder and blood, the viewer knows within him that what he sees is only for fun.
Biology of fear
Fear is reponsible of secretion of chemicals that make us feel good. The feeling of fear in nature stimulates our "fight or flight" response. The sociologist Margee Kerr (a specialist in fear study) explained: "Once we feel the coming of a danger, the sense of alertness is being activated, it stimulates lots of neurotransmitters and chemicals that make us feel good, along with a number of hormones, such as endorphin, dopamine, serotonin and adrenaline which affects our metabolism. However, when we know we are safe while watching horror movies, we interpret this state of alertness as a positive experience."It doesn't take much time to realize we are really safe", said Doctor Lutfi Ahmed, a sociologist in psychoanalysis. "This turns the sense of fear into enjoyment and laughter. While watching this kind of horror movies.

@steemcleaners excuse me this is not plagiarism. I didn't even litteraly translate the article. The original article was just a small aid for me. Because whenever someone wants to be more convincing, he has to read lots of articles before and check scientific studies. I don't see something wrong in translating sentences of scientfic researches because they are general facts. it's science, unlike litterature. And thanks Next time I won't even write scientific articles to avoid these problems. To be honest, it's unfair to drop down my reputation to 4 as it was before nearly 45
