Help your mind let go of the past
Thinking about your past all the time can spoil things in the present.
Thinking about the past can quickly lead you to judging everything in your present by what happened in your past, ruining your present enjoyment of life.
Judging everything by what went before
If things in your past really upset you then you may be tarring everything with the same brush'. This means that you are making faulty links between things in the past and things that feel similar (but are not really similar) in the present.
This is an emotional response and Let Go of the Past will help change that.
For example if someone had a very unhappy relationship in the past they may find that in a current relationship they get similar feelings of fear or anger without reason. The emotional brain is making a faulty link between the old and the new situation. The situation has gone long back. You are carrying it and recollecting it.
You can't change the past but you can change how you feel about it. If the past creeps up on you, taking you unawares then something needs to change. You can't change the past but you can change your feelings about it.
