Daily dose of inspiration: Meditation

Because of pure ignorance a great mistification was created about the word meditation. Things are very simple. Maybe our brain does not accept this amount of simplicity, and by the theory of chaos we end up complicating it.

In short - meditation is awareness about the moment in the moment. It is a moment of the spirit without the mind. Meditation is a skill that requires practice. It is not different from walking, swimming, riding a bicycle or writing. It is also not a privilege of the chosen gurus.

Often people say that they are not able to meditate. When we were young, first learning to walk, we have fallen numerous times and we didn't say we are not able to walk. We got up and continued practicing to perfection.

Everything you do automatically today you once had to repeat and practice for a long time. Meditation is not any different. But I guess we don't have the will to learn when we grow up, because we think we already know it all.

We overcomplicated the idea of meditation, came up with different types and subtypes that it is almost ridiculous. It's no wonders that many are confused in the sea of superficial informations.

Meditation is the process of silencing the mind. It is rest of the mind and pleasure for the body. Our mind is working 24/7, including the periods of sleep and dreaming. Don't you think it needs a break?

Meditation is the most natural state of our spirit, but in the same time most unnatural state of our mind, because it means it's little death. Imagine someone fighting for life, using everything he can. That is why the mind will do anything to talk you out of the meditation. It wishes to have control over you, rather than the other way around.

Among other things, meditation is control of the mind. Control of your own life starts with controlling your thoughts. But when the king senses a rebellion is coming, he will do anything to quell it. That is how the mind acts during meditation. His strongest tool is fear called ignorance.

For a moment feel the air through your nose. Breath is a bridge between your soul and your body. Feel your breathing in and out for a few times.

Now you have silenced your mind. This is the whole philosophy! You have just meditated. Of course the meditation has levels of expansions, but a large number of expectations in regard to meditation surpass levels that do not even exist.

Meditation is regeneration and revitalization of the whole creation of the human being. In the same way you fill you cellphone battery every day, you should also charge yourself. Someone has once said nicely that we should've been told that, if we don't meditate at least once a day, we will shutdown, just like a cellphone does. It would've be interesting to see if someone wouldn't make the time for meditation.

A day without meditation is a lost day. It means that you missed the current moment and that you spent day in the cage of the mind, either in the past or in the future. I have to warn you that life is not there, but rather in the current moment, in which there is also the God and all of the wonders.

Every competent doctor will recommend you meditation as the way of balancing body, mind and the spirit. Every competent priest will mention the Jesus's meditation and contemplation. Everyone remotely educated will know that there exists thousands of scientific papers about meditation and yoga.

Therefore I am not talking about idea, alternative or recommendation.
I am talking about science. WHO had recognized the meditation in 1978. as one of the scientifically verified health and therapy systems. It is ridiculous that some are still talking about sects.

It would be wise not to embarrass yourself in this explosion of knowledge, in the times we live in. All information of the world is just one click away. Diplomas of others are almost gifted to us.

If you are on the way of the balance, no matter how does it look like, keep doing it, don't change a thing. You understand it all. But if that is not the case, open your mind with meditation. You will be surprised by how much it will open your heart. And eyes for the magic of life...

In the Martial Arts (another meditative discipline if you allow it to be), they say if you do Kata long enough the masters of old come to teach you. This is of the same realm and meditation has many methods.
