WHAT IS MINDFULNESS EXACTLY?
In addition to being a means of thinking about other people and their mental states, mindfulness can also be utilized as a type of meditation. By using mindfulness meditation, you can concentrate on the present and become conscious of your sensations and your current feelings. There is no need to attempt to make sense of things or pass judgement on how you feel when you are able to concentrate solely on that one instant.

The present moment is all there is in reality, as you may have learned from Eckhart Tolle or other spiritual teachers. The future has not yet arrived, and the past no longer exists. Therefore, concentrating and being present can help you unwind and reduce tension.

Consider all the time we spend thinking about, planning for, or worrying about the future; regretting the past; and fretting about all the things we need to do, such as picking up the kids from school; cooking tonight's dinner; and paying the bills, etc. All of those things are taxing and draining. You may put such things away and concentrate on the here and now when you are able to be attentive, which lowers your tension and anxiety. The benefits of mindfulness meditation are enormous!

HOW COME I SHOULD MEDITATE?
Meditation has been practiced and its advantages have been promoted for years by spiritual masters and their disciples. These claims are now scientifically supported by numerous clinical trials thanks to developments in modern science and medicine. It is incredible that meditation has been practiced for hundreds of years, but a certain proportion of people still need to understand how and why it works before they will accept it.

There have been a large number of studies recently that offer empirical evidence on the how, why, and impacts of meditation on the body and brain. These studies are so different from one another that they each require their own article. However, suffice it to say that the results of these research collectively demonstrate that meditation is useful for lowering stress, anxiety, pain, sadness, and even a variety of "medical" disorders and diseases.

WHEN SHOULD I MEDITATE, AND HOW OFTEN?
If you are having trouble with any of the aforementioned problems, there is probably no such thing as too much meditation. According to studies, some times of the day may be better than others for meditating. During those periods, the brain is releasing specific waves that make it more open to meditation and suggestion. Books have been published on only that subject, but for the purposes of this discussion, let's assume that for the majority of individuals, that period is either before bed or right after waking up. Your brain is releasing the right waves and creating the right chemicals during certain moments, enabling the meditation advantages.
