Demeanor Ductility

The ability to make your behavior flexible like rubber is huge.

It will influence your ability to be socially dynamic.

I shortly talked about an incident today on periscope regarding a flexible behavior.

Today, I was supposed to give a presentation to a mastermind group.

It was going to be hosted at a java coffee house in Nairobi 🇰🇪 at 7 am.

So I woke up extra early, got ready & headed on over.

By the time I got there, I see a bunch of people standing outside.

I asked why they weren't going in.

They said its because the coffee house is closed.

Apparently, the guy who was supposed to open didn't get the memo that they were supposed to open early for the event.

At this point, a lot of people are frustrated because they drove from different parts of Kenya🇰🇪 to attend the event.

Now they were supposed to go home empty handed?

But no!

I could still give the speech.

The place didn't matter.

I asked which person would open up their home for the rest of us.

No one volunteered.

But luckily, someone said we can use their pool area.

Fine, I will give the speech in the pool area.

By the time we got there, the sun was starting to shine.

Who am I kidding, it was hot as shit.

And I was wearing a suit as well.

Everyone there was groggy from being under caffeinated.

However, the show must go on.

I ended up give a 20 minute steemit presentation with a 20 minute crypto-exchange training activity session.

40 minutes of group network interaction in a hot weather.

Fun..

This event ended up teaching me something.

It's the need to be very flexible with your behavior.

In many cases, people would have thrown in the towel or groaned their way through the hot steemit presentation.

But in circumstances like this, you need to be able to re-calibrate.

Understand that anything that involves humans leaves room for unpredictability.

And in this case, with the coffee guy not showing up disrupted our patterns.

Luckily, our group was able to adjust and be flexible with their behaviors.

Was everyone able to be flexible?

No.

Most were pissed, annoyed & very low energy.

But luckily, a few were.

Behavioral flexibility is a superpower reserved for the minority.

It's something that is developed after pushing past uncomfortable events.

But when you begin to develop it, you feel much better because you are in control.

Although the circumstances are not always in your grasp, your attitude is.

And your attitude will dictate your moves.

In situations like that, maintain control over your attitude.

When hell beaks loose, be the conductor of good energy.

You are in the public speaking world my friend.

Therefore, the show must always go on.
