Sometimes, A Steady Job is Like a Bribe That Compels Us to Forget Our Dreams…

Hi, Steemians!

Sometimes, I talk about truths that can only be experienced. Sometimes, I talk about facts that are undeniable, often supported by empirical evidence.

But there is yet another trend of information you witness in this blog… those articles or tidbits of data that cannot be applied to the majority of people.

With the assumption that most the members of our community are ambitious and aspiring dreamers, I want to unveil yet another truth of society today that has essentially been a personal observation of mine.

Financial stability is a controversial topic to approach. Most people seem to be defensive about the state of their economical prowess.

Of course, they have a right to be defensive! It is not an easy thing to find a good-paying job in the competitive scene of society.

Most of the times, finding that job is fundamentally about sacrificing our original dreams and visions of the future.

A lot of people call this ‘facing the reality’ but between you and me, nothing could be further from the truth, because that is not the reality of life at all.

I want to mention a point and leave you to ponder on it for a while. It may not be the absolute and non-negotiable truth.

It is not about commiserating with the circumstances of our lives. It is about embracing the bitter truth that may have engulfed us in its darkness.

So, here goes nothing:

Sometimes, our good-paying job and financial stability is a bribe from society that compels us to forget our dreams.

The question we must ask is the price and value we put on ourselves and our lives as individuals… is it worth it?

Nothing is as valuable as time, a time that is being wasted not pursuing your dreams or goals, but filling in a job in the endless ocean of society.

I am not asking you to quit your job! I don’t want you to hastily and recklessly change the financial state of your life without thinking it through.

Taking a risk in this particular aspect of life is not something wise people do. You need to think everything through and take your steps with caution.

What I AM suggesting, is that we should all examine our lives and our jobs, and determine whether or not they are giving us the satisfaction that we deserve.

In the end, most obligatory jobs seem like bribes that society is giving us as a prize of forsaking our dreams.

What are your thoughts?

A BIG HUG!!!

Thanks @chbartist for this post. Seriously, I am thinking about my dreams at my job. I frequently find reasons to follow my dreams, but day tasks consume almost all my energy and time. Great to have you here!

Wonderful article. This hits home to me.
Having been in this situation most times I realize that a steady job is really a bribe and I've seen it work.

Many will not see it but having a job comes with responsibilities and most importantly status, I'll get to them soon.

You may not have the money when unemployed but you have time which can be utilized to pursue your dreams and without the above hindrances you can speed up the process.

Responsibilities reduce the money gained from working and status is also something most people don't realize that affects income (like having a dress code which comes from your income, and maybe appropriate apartment...). Responsibilities cause stress and when you're not in a position that is ideal to you, that is another stress and this affects health so you will need drugs, supplements etc at the end of the day and time too is also lost in the process

These are two points that I see most people overlook when they tell me to "get a steady job and follow your passion in your spare time". I've been a good boy and followed their advice and twice I've been derailed from my dreams now I'm the bad boy and I fully follow my desires and it is bliss even if it's stressful it's fun for

Completely agree as we should never allow anyone or organization put a pricenon our work hut we call it a salary. Instead, we should be able to determine our worth and become entrepreneurial. Unfortunately, the way society and education work is for the latter to be the normal process which leads to an entrapment.

We human beings are born free and the dirty and stupid society that has led us to be poor humanly and economically we have to fight for our ideals and dreams and cultivate a dream and something that few can now do

I believe that this issue starts at College. People assume that the one way to live a successful life is to be educated and find a steady job. Once you accept loans and debts from college there is no turning back and refusing a stable career, because that might be the only thing that will allow you to survive on your own.
