What Does it Really Mean to Be Strong and Unrelenting?

in mindset •  5 years ago

Hi, Steemians!

In our modern world, the people who characterize as strong usually find it difficult to explain the source of their strength.

What it means to be strong is just as important as the manifestation of the definition itself, because it is of psychological significance in our understanding of the world and society.

In this blog post, I want to talk about what it really means to be strong and unrelenting.

A lot of people tend to assume that being strong is about not feeling pain or showing vulnerability to other people.

But if you were to not feel any pain, you wouldn’t be called a human being. Feeling pain is inevitable.

Those who suppress their feelings do not do it as an indication of being strong, but as an active choice to hide their weaknesses and pressure points.

So, if you have any doubts about your strength, understand that being strong is not about emotions and feeling them.

Being strong is about embracing those emotions, coming to terms with them, and moving on with your life without any hesitation, compromises, or erroneous thoughts.

There’s quite a lot of difference between accepting something and simply experiencing it.

Acceptance is the foundation of strength, and without it, we are all doomed to repeat our mistakes and live in the guilt of our past decisions.

Without acceptance, we can never come to terms with how the world is, as opposed to how we want it to be.

True strength is about acceptance, without which our lives are forever mingled with grief and senselessness.

If you find it difficult to accept everything as it is, then you can be sure that you are not a strong person.

We should differentiate between tolerance and strength.

One is about experience, while the other is about motion.

One is about vacancy, and the other is about progress.

Truly strong people are those who are always on the move, and those who are always thinking about improving their lives and the lives of other people in spite of the difficulties that haunt them.

Which one are you?

Do you fit in the group of people who are merely pretending to be strong, or those who actually use their strength as a means for their ends?

A BIG HUG!!

Very nice post! I am probably in the middle right know😁 On every bad day I just learn to let it go and train myself to be “here and now”. Being more aware of my feelings helps me to calm myself down a bit😉

Well, I guess I am getting strong. I am developing certain accepting qualities. But I am not quite there yet.

I think you're right. Whether people find that aceeptance in religion or in any other source, all the people I know that I consider strong are so because of their ease to move on and always be possitive about future outcomes.
The accept physical and emotional pain, loss and change without blaming others. They just see obstacles as opportunities to show determination and resolve, as test (whether from a creator or from a universe that self-governs and is in constant motion).

Accept and learn from those experiences as they provide great opportunities to learn and adapt to new realities! Resilience is an important part of the journey and seeking improvement is the way to go!
