Nothing is wasted.
No difficulty, hardship, humiliation, annihilation...
It is all compostable. Re-usable.
Y'know what LOSS + PAIN can turn into... once decayed?
Wise, actionable power, that's what.
I am near the middle of my life. 48.
At this point, most of my similarly-aged peers are enjoying
the peak of their careers, if not early retirement.
And I am hustling. Hard. Like a 20-something year old.
Feels like I have been in start-up mode, forever.
It trips me up, whenever I fall
into that shame-dumping comparison trap.
But then, I just had the Real-Eyes-ation
that... hey, wait a minute...
...shame flipped inside-out, can be A STRENGTH!!
I can, and do, stand for those who may think
they are TOO OLD, or TOO BROKE, to pursue
the better Life/Way that their heart keeps asking for.
I am defying those limiting ideas, as a
single Black woman, living abroad, with no "established"
means of support. It has not been easy. At all.
(My life as an independent freelancer,
has been consistently inconsistent.)
The economic insecurity I've lived with
is slowly sorting itself, as I sort myself.
It has also prompted me to be more transparent
about the pain-points and pitfalls
of diving into a new life, with no plan.
Please don't judge me about the plan-less part.
The flip-side of my free-spirited impulsiveness,
can be seen in the overly-prepared bench-warmer,
who only dives into endless research...
while living an unchanged life.
Let's stop judging, and start learning from, each other. :-)
Economic insecurity has been the most ruthless teacher
I've ever known/had, AND I AM READY TO GRADUATE THIS LESSON!
It is also, ironically, my credibility.
The joy and peace so many say they see in me,
is a testament to inner richness,
because outer riches have not yet arrived.
Life and Consequences leveled me.
So I chose to get the most out of that messy brokenness.
Remove the false parts.
Feature what's true.
And share with you.

At your age I’d started accumulating assets but still had inadequate cash flow for where I was living. 3 years later I was able to retire. Things can change very quickly.
Btw, I see you didn’t get the tsu upvote which is back to about $8. You should post for a missed vote in the discord and make sure you weren’t removed from the list do to inactivity or something.

@indigoocean: "3 years later I was able to retire." <--- Do you talk or teach about how you did this, anywhere? If so, please feel free to drop link(s).
Yeah, I didn't post for a couple weeks. But my last recent 3 did get the TSU vote, so not sure what's up with this one. Thanks for the heads-up.

Probably missed vote then and will come soon.
I teach about my process in a small community I created called The Winning Start. You can find out more at thewinningstart.com
In general I’d say it’s a combo of “inner game” conditioning to let in a new financial level with “outer game” practical stuff about money. I focus on business, investing, and personal PR.

Thanks, @indigoocean! I will check out TWS. I've been inspired by your example for well over a year now, so believe -- in a month or so (after a move, transitions, etc.) -- I could get a ton of value out of a focused community hosted/facilitated by you.
As much as I attend to my inner game, something obviously still needs addressing, as my outer game isn't matching as fully as possible.
Just by being exposed to your content over time, I am thoroughly pre-sold. So, bravo on your personal PR. It's very effective! :-)

That part about the butterfly got me. 9 or 10 years ago, when I was struggling hard with something I had no control over, a close friend said to me, "you know a caterpillar has to physically die before mutating into a butterfly and taking flight" - that always stuck with me. Great post, and if anything, you and I have the wealth of powerful beings of truth and love that have our backs. There is nothing more valuable than that.

It always amazes me to see how universal human emotions and situations really are. We could be very far, geographically speaking, and still, through words we get to feel such a deep identification with feelings and reflections so beautifully written... "The economic insecurity I've lived with is slowly sorting itself, as I sort myself ..."... The joy and peace so many say they see in me,is a testament to inner richness,
because outer riches have not yet arrived ... " and "Remove the false parts. Feature what's true ... " Those were three segments that truly resonated with me. Spoke to me about honest retrospection, patience, consciousness, hope. A Venezuelan poet Aquiles Nazoa once wrote a poem, "Punto y Raya" ("Dots and Dashes"), he said that when you actually walk the land, the world, you get to see rivers and mountains, jungles and deserts, but no dots and dashes! Those don't exist really, he said... Let's just say that when I read your post this morning, it touched my heart, no matter the distance. Thanks for sharing!
