I'm done!

I'm finished. I just spent the day walking around the woods. Roaring River State Park in Cassville, Missouri. Did a trail called The Devil's Kitchen. Fantastic scenery. There's even a cool little spot where the water trickles down through this cave. There is a cold air breeze coming from it that makes for a wonderful place to pause. Everything was so calm and peaceful, even with my kids being there. It truly was a wonderful experience.

When we left, however, it all went down hill. Horns honking, people yelling, and a more "civilized" mentality washed back over my family. Smiles hadn't completely disappeared, but could see that the wonderment of the forest was falling away.

I am tired of seeing that go away. I am tired of having to drag my family back to civilization. I would like to spend the rest of my days setting up a life that I don't have to do that. Setting up a world where families have an option to do this.

This is where Haven comes into play. If you have not had the opportunity to listen to any of my podcast, especially those episodes the deal with Hazen, I highly suggest that you pause right now download them and listen.

I feel kind of bad about not making more blog post about Haven. It is quite a large subject to tackle and I am afraid that it would make for a very long blog post. However, I will try to do a brief little breakdown of Haven and the Nomads.

Haven, for me, is Utopia. The idea started out as the farm that I wanted my family and I to purchase. On this Farm, we were going to test the limits of permaculture. Haven was going to be the place where we lived out the rest of our days. Not just my wife and I, but also my children.

As this idea brewed in my head, I saw the concept grow and grow. The basic idea expanded into something more than just a farm. If my children were to grow up and live out their days on this Farm, then it would have to grow. Haven would have to expand into the surrounding Farms. Farther and farther out the boundaries of Haven would have to expand. So much so, Benhaven would occupy a space as large as a city, as a County, as a district, possibly a state, and even eventually, possibly a country.

What about the nomads? The idea of the nomads grew out of my interest in the homeless population. As my interest in minimalism grew, I often wondered what the extremes of minimalism could be. That wonderment led me to the homeless.

If you have not had the opportunity to listen to my podcast about the homeless warm, I highly recommend you listen to that one as well. Here is a link. https://anchor.fm/hey-man/episodes/The-homeless-swarm-e1hjea

Eventually, I got tired of using the word homeless. I got tired of using the word homeless because I was aiming more at the people that were choosing to live this lifestyle. There are a chunk of people that would rather live as a homeless person that participate in the system.

Yes there are people that are homeless that do not have a choice, and they have a place in Haven as well. Everyone has a place in Haven.

I will get into further detail with Haven and with the nomads in further blog post. Until then, make sure you look below and check out all of my social stuff. Contact me. Start a conversation. Later man.
