Steeminimalist - What is Minimalism?

Who doesn't want to make their life easier? I do! Do you?

It's been a year or more since I started following this lifestyle and I think that when you find something that benefits you you have to share it with your fellow human beings!

What is Minimalism?
It's a lifestyle based on the principle of moderation. In the behavioral science "moderation" is the tendency to save, save time, save everything that is consumible (food, objects), it is all about using your resources in the most efficient way.

What are its benefits?

º Selfish benefit: Your life will be easier and with less stress.
º Group benefit: You are actually helping the planet by consuming less.

How did you start?

I remember that when I lived in Venezuela I always dreamt about having this huge makeup, handbag a shoe collection. At the time I couldn't afford it but when I move to Switzerland and started making money I bought myself a bunch of objects! The designer bags that I always pictured in my mind were actually not as fulfilling as I thought. I realized I didn't need all those things.

I analized my behavior when going shopping and I realized that I used to buy things that made no sense. A bunch of objects that were on sale that I never got to use. The same thing happened with food, house furniture and even time.

So I decided to stop going shopping, which is the first step, and later on I started decluttering. First was my closet. I chose a color palette (Black, white, gray and beige) all the pieces that were not those colors I donated. You have no idea how happy I was when I did the laundry! It was so much easier. I only kept the shoes that were comfortable to wear.

I know this is not for everyone 90% of my closet is black and I love it! Keep in mind that life is all about taking what works for you and adapt it to your own reality.

All of my bills get sent to me by mail. I do not have notifications on social media, except for the ones that are important (whatsapp basically), just so I don't have to think that I have to answer right away, when I want to, I open my social media accounts and enjoy them!

If minimalist is something that you find interesting do your research and adapt it to you!

Where do I see myself in the future?

I want to be even more minimalist and keep on being as happy as I am right now. I am very lucky to be able to say that.
