This is a follow up to the post I did about mining speeds of older and newer GPUS with some popular algos and others not so well known.
The first coin we tested on this 75 watt gtx 950 was Decred and it did slightly better than the 750 ti pulling around 722 MH/s with a slight GPU overclock.
The next coin we tried this on was LBRY and with the price surge, its becoming more popular to mine for people who are speculating on the possiblities of LBRY. The GTX 950 did about 70 MH/s with a modest overclock.
Zcash has always been popular and the GTX 950 pulls almost twice as many sols/s as a 750 ti with 128 sols/s the GTX 950 is a power sipping way to get some Zcash.
Zcoin is an interesting project and still in early development but gaining traction on some of the major exchanges. With most cards this algo uses little heat and minimal power draw from your card. A GTX 950 get more than double the speed of a 750 TI with the 950 doin 370 kh/s with a very low power draw.
Bitcore is a coin gaining some popularity with more interest in mining from both AMD and Nvidia crowds. The GTX 950 gets about 4500 kh/s and uses up almost all the power available from that 75 watt card.
Musiccoin is not that much better than the 750 ti with the 950 getting around 9.8 MH/s
Ethereum is not working on these cards as the dag file is over 2 gb
I too have done quite a bit of mining, have you made any guides on how to set up the .bat and configs for new users? That could be a great way to help spread wealth to those willing to learn.

Great idea, I will make that a priority for the next post. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Thank you, I figured I would start with the older cards and work my way up to the newer ones.

The good thing about Nvidia cards they perform well on Equihash with low power usage.

They cost a bit more, but in the long run you save quite a bit of energy.

True! especially for people who have high price per kw/h

Even if your price is not that high, savings are savings and they add up in the long run.

why should you mine with an gtx 950 if there are many other cards with which you can make more money?

This is mostly as a reference for people who want to start mining and might have an older card on hand. I think its good to practice with what you have before deciding to invest heavily in a mining rig. The GTX 950 still sees a little mining action now and then. The GTX 1070's and 1060's see most of the action and the RX 470s are working steadily on Ethereum. I am working through older cards and plan to post newer card info as we move up the ladder.
