I believe governments will increasingly see cryptocurrencies as a threat and will try to crack down on them. I'm already reading reports that Chinese miners are moving to Canada. (I don't think that governments will be successful in banning cryptocurrencies, but they will try nonetheless.)
My view is that the crypto space will trigger an enormous amount of creativity in the coming years and we're just scratching the surface of what we'll see. Significant talent is already moving into crypto and we're in the early innings of the money flowing in as well. I'm looking for at least 20x gains on my crypto portfolio in 2018.

They will have a natural appeal to people throughout the world who want to safeguard their assets. Monero has done very well in recent months for that very reason. ZCoin and ZenCash are two other privacy coins. As always, please do your own due diligence before investing your hard-earned money.

People with some sophistication can figure out who has engaged in bitcoin transactions if they really want to, so bitcoin is not nearly as private as many people believe. yes... beware of "fake ICOs"... I keep my eyes on existing crypto, specifically Hashgraph and Raiblocks and any deviation from general blockchain tech. They will be very disruptive to prices and mining (since some of them dont even have mining)

It seems like many of the ICO's are just scams to get as much money as possible, but this has a real use case and is going to be better for the climate as dirty energy uses will not be used by this company!

I usually am not a fan of ICOs either. They have to really sell me on it to get me interested in the coin. The mining rig thing seems like it could work though, I know it is pretty difficult to get GPUs and CPUs right now...at least consumer grade ones.
I had my brother build some mining machines and damn he has one that generates $800 a month then one does close to $2200 a month . Crypto is soon gonna take over

If they are going to limit themselves to just renewable energy then they will likely loose out on the best price possible in some countries. However this does make sense if you think about it since renewable energies it doesn't make sense to just turn them off when there is excess power however fossil fuel plants this does make a lot of sense.
The big question for this company is how often they have to move their rigs and what the internet connectivity is like in the new country that they are put in.
Hopefully they don't have to be right next to the windfarm since there is no guarantee of decent internet connectivity on site. That would be my only problem that I can see with this project besides the risk of countries trying to ban crypto and thus would likely not want to subsidize mining it.

I think the Proof of Stake or DPOS model of crypto will be bigger than Proof of Work going forward. If so, mining will eventually peak at some time and then on the decline. I've heard that ETH will eventually be moving towards PoS.

mining now a days are costly and worthless when we consider the amount of electricity it consumes.

Hmm...thanks for bringing this to our attention, I'll need to look into this. As you allude to, most ICO's are crap and one must do their own research before investing. My biggest question so far is what kind of consensus do these mining rigs support? My feeling is the proof-of-work (POW) consensus is antiquated and I'd be surprised if many newer blockchains would require this type of solution. This point may of course be moot, as I'm not a coder or developer- I need to research this!

Hmm...thanks for bringing this to our attention, I'll need to look into this. As you allude to, most ICO's are crap and one must do their own research before investing. My biggest question so far is what kind of consensus do these mining rigs support? My feeling is the proof-of-work (POW) consensus is antiquated and I'd be surprised if many newer blockchains would require this type of solution. This point may of course be moot, as I'm not a coder or developer- I need to research this!
