Portable ZCash Mining

in mining •  6 years ago

I just wanted to share something I have been working on for the past month or so. I had a plan to build a mining rig in a suitcase that can be transported and be running while closed. It was important for it to be closed to limit the attention it would get and keep the components safer. The plan is to bring it with my when I am at the office (lower rates) or when I go on vacation.

It is a basic system with 4 1050ti FTW GPU, Gigabyte MB, 550PSU, 64gb SSD, and 4gb DDSR. I built the frame out of acrylic to keep heat absorption to a minimum. I have (4) 92mm fans cooling it at the moment.

It pulls around 750 sol with GPU temp at 60C, uses about 370 W, and gets to be about 113F inside the case.

Let me know what you think. All feedback is appreciated.

Cool idea. Imagine you'd have a problem with heat though.

That was the biggest problem, but with the fans, exhaust ports, and position of the GPUs they never get above 67C and are usually closer to 60C.
