My Zcash Mining Rig - EVGA Gtx1070/1080 Liquid-cooled Hybrid GPUs - 3150 sols

Hello, fiends.

In the narrative that follows, I will be describing the features of my recently constructed GPU mining rig. This is my second mining rig build, the first being a generic 6x 4gb Rx470 unit for ethereum mining. I operated this unit for nearly one year, before the increasing DAG file size and network difficulty began to reveal its age. I hoped to make my second rig somewhat more future-proof.

I opted for GPUs with a hybrid cooling system due in part to the shortage of available air-cooled models. However, the hybrid units do appear to tolerate more extreme overclocks before stability is compromised. The units are secured to a frame constructed from 1-inch extruded aluminum L-bracket and self-tapping sheet metal screws. I placed the GPU coolers high above the rest of the components, with the intention of offloading heat as far away as possible.

Yes, the cable-management is appalling. Anyway, the Biostar TB250 Motherboard and dual EVGA 1000w G2 power supplies rest below the bank of GPUs. The total power draw for the entire rig is around 1380W. However, it pulls around 14A of current, which necessitated the use of two separate PSUs, since each has only a single 12A rail.

The complete list of components (unless I forgot something):

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW HYBRID 8GB (x3)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW HYBRID 8GB (x3)
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 (x2)
Biostar TB250-BTC Motherboard
Intel Pentium Processor - G4400 - 3.3 GHz
8GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4
Corsair MP500 120GB m.2 SSD
GPU Risers - 6-pin to SATA (x6)
"Add2PSU" adaptor to connect the power supplies

I pay $0.08/kWh for electricity, so this has been profitable so far despite the hefty power draw. Using EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner version 0.3.4b, the hashrate hovers between 3130 and 3180 sols. The GTX1080's get about 590 sols and the GTX1070's get about 460. The rig has been running nonstop since late July, with no shutdowns at all. It has been way more stable than my first rig. I use FlyPool and average about 1.6-1.8 Zcash/month.

Thanks for reading, fiends. I do appreciate it.

Nice rig, I prefer mining zec instead of monero because is far more stable, regardless whatomine tells me monero is more profitable for my setup, greetings and keep mining

Nice rig :) What about, cleaning and refilling the liquid? Want to buy 1080ti hybrid version, searching for reviews. Thank you :)
