Hey again Steemians,

In this post i want to talk about the power supply I got for my new mining rig the Corsair RM1000x and how it came about.
The plan was actually to go with another power supply but because it was sold out everywhere i could't get my hands on that I ended up with the RM1000x instead.

Backstory

The plan all along was to get the EVGA GQ 1000 Watt power supply mainly because it's one of the cheapest 1000 w 80 Plus gold rated ones out there and when taking cost in to the consideration which one really have to do if you want to make a profit and get that ROI back as soon as possible on your mining rig it was a no-brainer to go for that one. You have to be smart on where you spend your money and as long as you get a 80 Plus gold rated power supply from any of the big names out there like EVGA, Corsair, Seasonic etc you cant really go wrong and then it's just about to find the best priced one. A lot of miners go with the EVGA 1000 GQ for that reason.

Sadly there werent any re-sellers who had it in stock when i was ordering my stuff and it wouldn't be availble for another couple of weeks so i had to find another power supply that could satisfy my needs and thus I went for the Corsair RM1000x

It cost me 1799 NOK (~$215 dollar) and the EVGA GQ 1000 would have cost 1499 NOK (~$179 dollars).

First impression

So my first impression when carrying the box was "jeez this is heavy" and once i unboxed it and could hold it i realized how big it was. It feels super sturdy and seems like its built like a tank and will probably last forever (it comes with 10 years warranty which is almost forever hehe). I'll go in to more details during my build log that's coming up on how it performs and so on.
But so far I'm happy with it.

How many gpus you plan to run with this?

The first goal is to run 6 and then see if it's possible to run more after that but after 6 there's other variables to take in to consideration as well.

I really want to buy this power supply but i can't find it here in Algeria.

oh no sorry to hear that, what are you options regarding available power supplies in Algeria ? Any specific one you are looking at instead ?

How many GPUs did you end up with the RM1000x?

Any additional thoughts after 5 months of use?

so I'm about to have a 4x rx 570 mining rig, is a 850x corsair enough
or i should get the 1000w one ?
