As a newbie, i have always been eager to know more and more about this great platform STEEMIT. I had to do some silly stuff as a result of trying out new things and also knowing what somethings actually means here on steemit. So today when one of the newbies i brought into steemit asked me what flagging means, it occurred to me that he either made the mistake i did when i was new here or he is about tot, i remembered some silly mistakes which i did, it was really funny though, so i decided to share it with you guys. Pls, as we all laugh at this, let the main objective of this post not be defeated.

The main objective is,

  • To make newbies joining this platform to know things they ain't supposed to do.
  • To know the specific purpose of each button or pages here on steemit.

So here are the few silly things i did;

  • FLAGGING MYSELF

hahahah, it's funny, right? well, I did flag my self, although when I found out the actual meaning of that i had to unflag myself.

Now for those that don't know what flagging means, read below;

What is 'Flagging'?

'Flagging' or 'down-voting' is a way to show disapproval for a comment or post. Flags are meant to be used on posts/comments a user does not approve of. The reason can be that the post is spam, the author plagiarized it, etc.
So my gentle advice to all the newbies reading this is to stay clear of that button, it's really disastrous.

  • THANKING CHEETAH FOR VOTING AND COMMENTING ON MY POST

I think this is the silliest. Then, to me plagiarism doesn't make any meaning to me, I copy things anywhere i like and post them expectijng to get upvotes and earn.

So one of these days i noticed this account "CHEETAH" always votes and comments before everyone else , then i took his comments as references and i would always thank him for dropping by.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM AND WHO IS CHEETAH?

  • Plagiarism
    Plagiarism is the wrongful appropriation and stealing and publication of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions and the representation of them as one's own original work. Plagiarism is not in itself a crime, but can constitute copyright infringement. In academia and industry, it is a serious ethical offense. Even on a platform such as Steemit, plagiarism means the same. Presenting another person's idea as your own in a broad sense constitutes as Plagiarism. READ MORE...

I think the main point of this platform is having fun and really enjoying it, when you start to enjoy it and meet people who share the same interests and actually become friends with them, that's when the true love of this community starts showing, being payed for this amazing experience is just a bonus in my eyes. :)
