Just now I did something unusual. Instead of sticking to my "home" page feed, and voting for all those trusted authors and content creators I follow, I went to the shallow waters of the "new" section and upvoted/commented on some promising posts.
It struck me that I should be doing this regularly. These are the people who are going to spread the word about Steemit when they are successful. I remember the first doses of encouragement I got after working hard to hone my writing and compose quality posts. This encouragement helped to put me into "full Steem mode," and I think if the platform is to grow, the waters must also be naturally refreshed by the inlets of creativity pouring in that may be less visible.
Get out there and upvote some high quality content that no one else is seeing. In the end, it is yourself as a Steemit user you will be helping out.
Peace!

That's how I do the majority of my daily voting.

That is great. I don't know why I got stuck in my rut, but I certainly did. Cheers, and thanks for the comment.

I'm using @steemvoter to vote up posts by some minnows I know. They need encouragement to keep coming back. I only made cents for the first few weeks. I know what it's like. You need to get known around here

Thanks for doing this. It's great, and one of the many reasons we started the new projects. If you see any of these minnows putting out an excellent news piece, let us know. Or tell them to check us out.

Agreed. I've been spending probably 80% of my time on my Feed and the 'Hot' tab. 'New' deserves a look. Thanks for the reminder.

with all the bot votes its really hard for new authors to gain anything and.. stick here.

I agree that that makes the initial climb extra steep. New users who put out high-quality content being recognized by those either just directly or far above them SP-wise is what it is going to take to push this thing to the next level.

I appreciate you doing this. This just might give me some incentive to start posting on Steemit again. ;)

I always go to the NEW tab. It's where I find the new people to welcome and new content from new-to-me peeps. I actually visit NEW before I check my own feed. It's a good practice to have.
