Confessions of a Minnow Steemian

My fellow Steemian Friends!

Today, I would like to share my experience as a new Steemian. I am still a Minnow Baby. My account turned 103 days today. I even missed my 100's day'a-versary...

As some of you may know, I am involved now in the MinnowSupportProject MSP, a wonderful community of Minnows, Dolphin, Whales and Witnesses.

My professional experience in the Operations field, both on the IT and business side allows me to hopefully positively contribute to the MSP Waves Radio station, both as a host of three shows

... and, as a MSPWaves Ops team member.

But that's not the purpose of this post.
Instead, I would like to encourage someone out there today.

Determination

Enthusiasm for posting sometimes gives way to other priorities. Life takes over, and the account withers... Painful! It's my 103 days old Baby! Do you know that feeling?

I felt sad for my globocop account - as I felt I had neglected my writing for two weeks now. I am a relative fast writer - it's the re-reading, self-editing, formatting that takes most of my time when posting.

That said, I felt a nudging in my heart... I love this community - this opportunity - my account, the friends I have found here. I don't want to become a statistic, an account that withers away, neglected, forgotten, unloved.

What do I do, then...?

DOH! Write globo!!! Write...

I have a tendency to perfectionism. BUT, it doesn't always have to be a high-profile post, researched and crafted over hours, sometimes even days. As long as it is original content...

...just go for it...

Keep it breathing, globo, keep your account alive, vibrant. Keep it happy - keep my followers happy with my lille posts... That makes me happy.

Procrastinate

Oh, just how easy is it to procrastinate - I do it later - and then a friend calls, another task creeps up, and then the energy and inspiration is: gone. Do you know that feeling? Does that happen to you?

My Confession

So then, here it is. My confession..

Initially - I saw Steemit as an opportunity to make money - rather than to add value. It is that. No doubt. But my motivation went so much against who I am.

When my posts barely make it to the surface, to be seen by only a few - not a many - my heart sunk a little. I had read over and over again - this is about persistence. That's true. But what it is really about?

It is about helping others.
This has got to be my prime motivator. Everything else then comes easy!

Amazing People

I met some amazing people so far here on Steemit. @SirCork, @r0nd0n, @ma1neevent, @uniwhisp @crimsonclad and many others who give their time of love and labor to help minnows via the MSPWaves Radio project.

What an exciting venture! For me, as a notorious OCD'ed introvert, it hasn't been easy to start doing what I do now: hosting a radio show, being part of the operations team at MSPWaves Radio, and having fun...

But isn't this what it is all about? Enjoying giving... - because, the upvotes, the post rewards, the increased SteemPower are a just natural follow.

No Worries

Do not worry about tomorrow, God tells us. And so I shall not. In giving, I am already receiving an even greater reward, one that can not be measured with coins and numbers. It's intangible - intricate - it's what I am focused on going forward.

Thank You ALL!

So, here I am, happily crafting this post, hoping for many to see it.

And if you can relate, please let me know... I'd love to hear from you. Perhaps even come on one of our radio shows as a guest? Jane @disarrangedJane and I feature amazing Steemit Minnow Posts, and I do the same also on the Frequency-Waves and God-Waves shows.

Have a lovely week ahead - dear friends. I am looking forward to your posts!.

PS:// Ohhh - molto importante!!! Before I forget - I came across a brand-new Minnow and a guaranteed listener of Frequency-Waves. Introducing @hz432creations, a Steemian from Italy.

You have got to check out his post on 432Hz Pineal Gland Music... I just used it to write this post - totally relaxed, concentrated, focused. Thanks for that @hz432creations! Go ahead, my friends, show him some love! 😊

Thank you for reading.

I know that feeling, Globo.
No worries though. There's no chance of that happening to you. You are such a generous person! Only good things are coming your way. Jane said so. (smiley emoji)

You are awesome Jane. Can't tell you enough!!!

We are all in the same boat - or minnow-sea... 🐟
Thanks for reading!

I really like your post, your post is very useful for me and I will wait for the next post. Have a good day for your friends

Thank you saidulakbar. Much appreciate. 😊

Congrats on the 3 month mark, and welcome back to writing!

I saw Steemit as an opportunity to make money - rather than to add value. It is that. No doubt. But my motivation went so much against who I am.

Don't take that too much against yourself. Self-interest will always be among the highest priorities for us, even when our moral priories are different!

True, my friend. It's just that the primary motivator ought to be to add value - the reward follows.... :)

we should expect to receive value from the work we do; maybe not a $100 payout on Steemit every post ;>, but some recognition of the value we provide

if the value we receive is self-worth, that is good! If a few cents accrue here and there on top of that, even better

As long, of course, as we offer value. Most of my followers do! You certainly do!

Thank you for your TIRELESS efforts to improve MSP WAVES, bringing good content and shows and tons and tons of work behind the scenes! You are so appreciated by all of us on the team!

Thank you MSP-Waves! We are all in the same boat, riding the Minnow waves of MSPWaves Radio...
It's an honor to being part of it. 📻

Darn - just upvoted my own comment... Was not meant to happen.

Some great pills of introspection here! Thanks man for the unexpected support, it really means a lot.

It's great to have you! Here if you need anything - have questions, need help. We're here.

You are such a fantastically talented and helpful and contributing and lovely human being my friend. I'm damn glad to know you and support everything you are doing here to give back to the fish in the pond!

Things are going great, and they're only getting better!

You are a blessing to me all of a sudden this past week out of your own pure generosity and I'm filled with gratitude, without a doubt!

-Cork

@sircork Thank you Corky! What a great compliment. Love you guys - and what we do here. Recognizing where there is a need and acting on it as a team will make this a grand success, Brother!

"Oh, just how easy is it to procrastinate..." Never put off until tomorrow anything that can be put off for a week or more.

There is wisdom.
And if you touch something, may it be an email, or a piece of paper, finish it then and there if it takes <2 mins...
