Hi everyone.
This is my Curation Page for the week of January 01st - January 7th.
I will be featuring some of my best finds for new writers posting on the topic of sustainability. The tags I look for deal with earth friendly living, including intentional communities, recycling, climate, homesteading, eco-building, ecology and whatever else pop up.
The Minnow Support Project has multiple curators that pick five posts from under-valued minnows each week to highlight through MSP3k. This way MSP and PAL can promote new writers and content creators on Steemit, and in effect reward them for doing a superior job.
In my particular curation, I try to concentrate specifically on newer authors that write sound articles on a variety of interwoven topics. Hopefully I can recognise a different set of people than the other curators in order to boost recognition and appreciation of new Steemians.
The following posts are my Sustainability picks for this week:
from Building An Off-Grid Tiny House in Montana By Myself
My first entry is from Austinhopper, a writer who seems to dip his foot into everything. Building An Off-Grid Tiny House in Montana By Myself caught my eye because I've always wondered what compels various people to make the plunge into Tiny Living. Autin also wrote I Built A Hydroponics Setup to Grow 30 Lettuce a Month in My Living Room!. I found both articles worth a read.
from Agricultural and Fishery Systems Aquaponics Model
The next post I chose is from danda-daniel, who wrote a beginners article entitled Agricultural and Fishery Systems Aquaponics Model. In this post he explains how farming and fisheries can be an ideally interdependent system incorporating reclaimed water and nutrients in a sustainable cycle.
from Are You Going to Earthskills???
Schoonercreek is up next with an article entitled Are You Going to Earthskills???. I loved the concept of being able to have a class in such diverse arts as bow making, spinning and wilderness survival. The author has a short list of where people can locate a nearby class. She also wrote Embracing the Cold of Winter is Good For Your Health!, and Starting a CSA. Diversify Your Farmstead Business. Great content all from one writer!
from Homesteading: A Lonely Affair walkerland
My next article this week is Homesteading: A Lonely Affair by walkerland, a down to earth post about some of the painful realities of disconnecting from mainstream society. I also enjoyed "HomesteadingChallenge" #7 Entry - Share a homestead resolution for 2018!, for the glimpse into beekeeping and just what is a Slovenian Hive?.
from Survival--- foundations with the 3's... Your Brain on Disaster., by drwillwho
Last is Survival--- foundations with the 3's... Your Brain on Disaster., by drwillwho, who writes an awesome "how to" post on the hard facts and methods of basic survival. He continues with Some gear ideas for water purification, whether for hiking fun or survival. Interesting information, check him out!
Honorable Mentions
Below are a few interesting articles and exceptional posts I found that either do not fit in to a category or did not get first pick, yet I wanted to mention. Please check them out and give them some love where needed.

I am touched and honored by your recognizing my posts. Thank you so much. It is such a joy to be part of steemit and I hope that just as so many have written helpful posts to encourage and educate me, that maybe something I have to say will be of use to others. Incredibly flattered.

This is a really nice post. As ive mentioned, im fairly new here. I was one of those who wasted all of my time on facebook before i was introduced to steemit. Im still learning things as i go, but i absolutely love the recognition people give others here for their work. Its inspiring to see, really. On fb, people would just hit "share" and steal others content without actually showing any sign of appreciation for the work the original poster put in. I love how, here, people are just supporting others in every wsy possible, and giving credit where its due.
