As a 30 year career technical and web software developer now company owner, I'll tell ya this, those ads make these FREE services possible. My money is gambling that people who complain about ads, don't pay subscription fees, but hosting a big, highly trafficked service takes time and hundreds of man hours and costs REAL money to keep it online. So... whine, or pay, or don't whine and be grateful somebody built this tool for you and manages to keep it online. Where's YOUR contribution to the entire community?

Not sure what you mean by that, but minnow support has over 3000 members who get TONS of value, advice, friendship, education and entertainment from being in the group. You haven't "seen" what you haven't yet come over to see, perhaps?
