Exciting news for the Minnow Support Group
A normal evening was just moving along in our General chat, when a new member joined...
Wait, we couldn't have read that right? We have been wanting this new 'join' to happen for a while now, but we weren't sure if it would ever happen.
We got our wish though. It was who we thought it was, and we wanted to announce it to everyone.
So with this,
We want to warmly welcome @ned to our community.
You might know him from this thing called Steemit, and his position as CEO of Steemit Inc.
Ned, it's great to have you here and we can't wait to show you how much we have to offer.
In fact, you have come at a great time! With our recent growth, and having recently been added to the official welcome page of Steemit.com, we are becoming one of the largest and best communities for new users on Steemit. We hope you enjoy your time with us, and that you will see all the ways we work to support new members.
Our main financial support comes in the form of a free upvote, given via a bot to anyone who manually requests it. Once every 12 hours, a member can gain a boost to any post of their choice from our @minnowsupport account. It's Steem Power is a collection of several hundred delegations donated by members of PAL. As one might say, "come for the rewards, stay for the community".
And that is the real key, the community itself. The spirit of learning and teaching, of helping and guiding. Our members help each other and it's why we have had so much success in such short period of time.
We have multiple programs to help the community work together.
Everything from a weekly resteem contest, and multiple bots to help with curation of various mini-community efforts. The MSP-Waves Radio shows and their related contests and SP delegation prizes, and even Make-A-Minnow which does a large delegation prize to a single new user at a time.
All of these add up to a great community with even more potential to help everyone get more from Steemit.

woah... awesome! I can't believe how far @minnowsupport has come since I joined Steemit four months back. It's made a world of difference for me personally and so many others in our early stages on the site. That's so exciting that the one and only @ned came through! Cheers!

Interestingly enough, @ned has been visible, with the little green dot next to his name for as long as I have been on The PAL Discord server since August 5th. I'm very excited to see his "return", If it is in fact the real Ned. Though I don't recall ever seeing him leave. But there are more than a few loose screws that are trying to tank MSP Waves radio, so...I guess we'll all just have to wait and watch.

As much as it pains me to be seen commenting on one of these posts, I have to say, I seriously doubt anyone is trying to tank the waves, and it's pretty untankable anyway. It was built on a firm foundation of substance. I'll always be proud of what we did there in the beginning. I hope it can be sustained. It's the most valuable asset that community has, after all.
