What comes next?
If the kid says anything about being slapped, inform them they are "just butthurt".
Explain to them why they should not be upset.
Help them to understand that your time is precious; and by slapping them you were simply saving your precious time ... which is your birthright, no matter how inconsiderate and intolerable it may appear to others.
Drop the knowledge on them that the slap was simply to show their peers how much you loved all of them. Reaffirm the time situation and how valuable your time is.
Develop an equation to show how your time outweighs their butthurt.
Dismiss any blowback as nothing more than butthurt; and most importantly, never consider the other persons opinion as being valid.
Always remember, you have math on your side!
If there was a limited pool of hugs, then taking some hugs away from a smothered kid, so that the others had more of them, that would make total sense.
Slapping children is a very bad way of education.

Not receiving a hug is a slap? Is this some kind of entitlement mentality gone amuck?
Here's the simple truth: Those with SP get to use it as they see fit. They earned that right either through early mining or direct investment. People can criticize whether or not their ownership stake is justified, but it is what it is. If someone wants to counteract their actions they'll have to invest real money to build their own Steem Power stake. Steem is not a meritocracy, it's a lottery, and a somewhat rigged one at that. Authors and curators should set their expectations accordingly, IMO.

You forgot to use math for your justification. ;)

Okay, okay. I'll try again.
Slap = blue + helicopter.
Hug = 12 * elephant + rectangle.
Clearly Hug is better, but some people get the order of operations wrong.

Where did he say that?
It's one thing not to recieve a hug (upvote)
and it's completly another thing to recieve a slap (flag)
The analogy he uses is the best I've seen, if some kids are loved too much by their parents, just slap them, this will fix the "enequality" !

To me, it's a false dichotomy. A Slap != giving a hug to everyone else. Technically, based on the actual blockchain, a flag for financial reasons IS financially equivalent to giving everyone else an upvote (if the vote power allowed for it, anyway).
Feeling like it's a "slap" because we want to frame it that way doesn't change the technical results of the actions. So maybe "not receiving a hug is a slap?" was the wrong way for me to frame it.
I've been in discussions explaining why I don't think flags should be used for disagreements in payouts, but I also respect and appreciate the view of those who want to distribute rewards more broadly (and especially to new users) by ensuring the same authors don't receive a bulk of the rewards on a regular basis. There are good arguments on all sides. The only reason I even commented on this post is because I think it creates a false framing of the issue and could have some valid comparisons to an entitlement mentality which I'm not a fan of at all.

As if everyone deserves it! That's BS! Do I have to flag everyone else too in order to redirect rewards back to the ones I consider were mistreated?
You should not! Those "kind souls" should spent their time trying to promote and vote for quality content if they wanted to help "new users". New users, can also post on the "Introduce Yourself" tag, other that if they are quality users they can attract and build their own followers, that's how it works.
Now that I'm thinking of it... I have a similar "redistribution" idea, according to my subjective and "fair" and "noble" criteria, you and many others don't deserve your high reputation, new users feel underwhelmed and they deserve more reputation than they get, lets start a new "redistribution" flaging campaing , we need to start flagging every post of high reputation users in order to lower their highly unfair reputation score, posts with zero rewards of course, lets start by yours!
p.s
The only reason I even commented on this post is because I can't tolerate BS!

Sounds to me like you're telling others how they should use their SP according to your own perspective. Why not just build up your own SP and do as you wish instead of telling others how they should or shouldn't act?
Bull shit is excrement from a male cow. For better communication, try more precise language. Do you mean "I disagree!" If so, great. No problem. But it seems to me there isn't room here for alternative perspectives according to the language you're using. As I've already said, I don't think flagging is a good way to communicate reward distribution opinions, especially since flags impact reputation.
I don't think calling people's various opinions BS helps bring people together and help increase understanding. But do as you will, see how it work out.

I'm trying to point out that the "logic" they use is faulty and can be used to create similarly silly situations.
I completly misunderstood that part in your previous post and I have no excuse for this.

As I stated im my previus post, I flag the above zero rewards post for "Reputation Redistribution" reasons.
My actions are "noble"! My actions are "fair" and this is an upvote to everyone with a lower reputation score!
Lets stop this unfair enequality!
A quick break for dinner and more flags are on the way!
p.s
This is not a slap!

And we get the privilege of deciding where it should fall on the meritocracy-lottery spectrum. If the incentives are not working, we should fix them. I suspect this is going to feel weird for you given your voluntaryist sentiments, but Steem is not an organic society. It is a society whose rules were written by computer programmers. Just like we wrote them once, we can re-write them again if it's clear that the original rules aren't working well. There is nothing special about the original rules.

I agree and think that falls right within voluntary interactions. I recognize by using Steemit, I am voluntarily using the software owned and created by Steemit, inc. If people complain about stuff loudly enough, changes and improvements will be made (at least, that's what I've seen so far since joining in June). My hope is we can discuss these issues as adults and carefully separate out our strong opinions from our "facts" and "logic."

That made me laugh. I like your thinking on this phenomena of over-reward flagging. It's is divorced from what is human in absurd way.
