In Utopia, this scientist says it doesn't kill, it simply stops human reproduction for 3 generations in order to save the world from overpopulation.

Dear diary, got up at 10:30 AM, sunny. Little slow but mom eventually found a marker for marking a bottle of distilled water she just did. Weeding around the grapes, 01:00 PM to 04:10 PM. Hot day. Helping mom with her pruning, harvesting, planting, weeding, today and off and on each week. Saw a book in a room titled The People Time Forgot. It was published in 1981 and it is about church planting in New Guinea or islands above Australia somewhere. Smart cars. Old cars. Write sorry article. Tiller returned, 04:40 PM. My friends before high school, Randy and Joe in Oregon, around 1999. Thanks Randy. Didn't know you had a garden. Nap, around 5 to 7:20 PM. Dishes to 8. She was singing a song, her own version to a guy Larry was talking to. The song was looking for love in all the wrong places and then there were like three verses and like a bridge at the end which she almost forgot to sing.

I'm learning how to scan and develop the negatives from photos, not the undeveloped film itself but just the negatives that would come with the photos.

I scanned a photo negative on Sunday, today is Wednesday, I've been messing around with trying to digitally develop this negative these past three days, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. I'm talking about photo negatives and not the undeveloped film found in analog photos. I
m adding this note in my log. I used my scanning program which I have here on my Ubuntu Mate 16.04 operating system on my Yoga laptop. I'm using a Canon printer scanner which I've used many times the past year or longer. Before that, there were other scanners. So, I've been reading articles and using different programs experimenting on different ways to develop negatives. One thing I am learning is that TIFF is more complete of a file format for photos than PNG. And PNG is portable and better than Jpeg. But PNG may not give you the entire color spectrum or other details. Only formats better than TIFF might be raw formats from the scanners themselves, directly, that is the hardware. The scanning machines will scan whatever it is scanning to a raw format and then you use software to convert to a file format for your computer or whatever. So, it may be better to get the original format. One problem with raw formats and TIFF is that the file size can be a lot bigger but that is good if it is the master copy of a photo. I wanted if similar things can be said of audio tapes and especially VHS video tapes. I need to study this more.

I have to decide whether or not PNG is good enough or if I am missing details with such a limited but compact file format. I will need to save a negative in TIFF and PNG and then compare the details very closely and then decide on a compromise or which of the two fits my needs. Plus, I should consider raw formats and other formats too perhaps and consider all the variables for scanning negatives. And I can also look at how I want to scan regular photos and other things too.
