Toronto also sent infielder Eric Sogard to the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend. As a result of those trades, top prospect Bo Bichette received a long-awaited call-up to the Majors, as did pitcher Sean Reid-Foley. Life after Stroman begins on Tuesday in Kansas City, where the Jays face the Royals in a three-game series.

While it’s disappointing to see Stro go, Jays fans have to be excited about the No. 8 prospect in baseball finally making his debut. Bo Bichette, along with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio, are the future of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the future is here. Hoping to be part of that future is starter Sean Reid-Foley, who is expected to get the start against the Royals on Tuesday following his callup.
For KC, they’re also expected to be sellers ahead of Wednesday’s deadline. One piece that they received from the Chicago Cubs earlier in July is Mike Montgomery, who’ll make the 8:15 PM ET start versus the Jays.
