UFC already interested in Mackenzie Dern

At 5-0 after her Invicta FC debut, the UFC has already shown interest in Mackenzie Dern according to FloCombat. Being undefeated is certainly a good selling point in MMA when negotiating contracts and for it does help that she is east on the eyes and a flyweight.

The UFC just started their women's flyweight division with many ladies coming off of the Invicta FC roster already in it. This is the right road for her if the UFC is her endgame, and it seems it is. However, could another promotion offer her something more?

"My manager has already had contact with the UFC , with several organizations in fact," Dern said of her future. "So yes, we already had talks with the UFC, but there is nothing confirmed as far as a debut."- Mackenzie Dern

This is where I like to speculate. The year coming to an end and 2018 plans across the landscape of MMA, she likely does not want to write off other options. For instance, Bellator started their flyweight division before the UFC, and has a really well-rounded champion in Ilema-lei MacFarlane. Also, with her notoriety from competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu she has some sponsors she would likely have to give up if she went into the UFC.

Scott Coker has been very public about fighters and the sponsors they acquire, so that could be something she would have to think about. Reebok sponsorships payout based on fighter's records, even if she fights 4 more fights it is still on the lower scale of what she could make from Reebok.
