Ray Borg is a game fighter. Pretty well rounded but perhaps his pure striking skills could be better. While I do say that I will also say he is above average in the grappling department. Borg has more experience with high level guys than his opponent. Borg has been in the UFC since 2014 and he is still only 25 years old. He has even fought for a UFC Championship in 2017. He lost to Demetrious Johnson, but I still chalk it up to quality experience Borg can hopefully learn from.
Gabriel Silva is set to make his UFC debut versus the man just described. It was a bit difficult to find a lot of quality information on Silva before this fight but from what I gather
he favors striking his opponents with heavy shots. Overall he seems a bit raw for this matchup. Not saying he can't come out victorious.
This is sort of a tough one to call but I have Borg getting it done based on better octagon experience.
---HOW IT WENT DOWN↓---
Round one. So far a lot of reading each other and then Borg initiates a clinch with underhooks against the fence.
They switch positions and grind on the fence. Silva gets a takedown.
Borg scrambles to his feet and pushes Silva against the fence.
Fighters scramble again.
Stalemate round 1 would say.
Round 2.
Immediate takedown. Little scramble, Borg attempts a guillotine for awhile but fails and finds himself under Gabriel.
Borg squeezing his way out. Silva takes Borg's back.
Silva tries to find neck but can't. Borg then finds an escape and then takes Silva's back. Borg keeping a lot of pressure on Silva and starts to find some strikes and ground and pound.
Borg takes Silva's back once again. Round ends there.
Perhaps round 2 is Borg's.
Round 3.
Silva immediately misses a takedown.
Borg continues pressure on fence gets another takedown. Top position for Borg. Borg takes back.
Borg just grinding on Silva.
Another takedown for Borg. Relentless takedowns.
Borg all over him just riding Silva's back. Ground and pound.
Borg taking over Silva has no answer.
Feels like a win for Borg.
