Hey SportsTalkers

It was no secret that the UFC had an intense business relationship with Cris Cyborg for the past 5 years but it came as a huge surprise to me when she was released or in other words, the UFC didn't sign a new contract with Cris and she's now a free agent. The departure came to play shortly after her last fight VS Felicia Spencer when some shit went down with Dana White after the fight nut we will get to that in a bit. There's a lot of footage online from previous years where Dana and lots of other people talked smack about Cris in regards to her looks, failed PED test and all sorts of other stuff which obviously made her rage in some interviews against the UFC and on how is she treated as then featherweight champion.

After losing the title to Amanda Nunes things went from worse to worst for Cris who now had very little negotiation power leading to her last fight on the contract. Dana White continuously claims he wanted to do a rematch with Amanda but Cris doesn't want to fight her again. That being said, I highly doubt Cris doesn't want some form of redemption and what better way to get it than in a fistfight, right? It's absurd to say she doesn't want to fight Amanda, what I think happened is the UFC wants to make anything possible in their power to keep Amanda as their double champ and forcing Cris to take the fight on a pay-cut and probably some other things we as fans don't even know about. Dana White is a well-recognized liar when it comes to the UFCs business model but rarely doesn't tell the truth when there are fighters involved, fights to be made and money to be earned. I know, I know it happened a bunch of times in the past twenty years.

Here's the recent interview where Dana explains the Cyborg situation.

This was obviously put together to shine some light on Dana in this situation and I don't blame the UFC for protecting their leader in this type of fashion, its damage control to say the least. Dana had some valid points yet in some cases totally wrong and I don't agree with the fact he won't admit she was misthreaded when working for the company. What are your thoughts on this situation? Will we see Cyborg in the octagon again or will she sign with a new promotion?

Let me know what Yall think!
