Nokia signs deals with Xiaomi and Carl Zeiss - the manufacturer of optics!

HMD Global, the owner of rights to the Nokia brand, has entered into two contract deals within two days. The first is a patent agreement with Xiaomi, the second - a cooperation agreement with Carl Zeiss!

The new owner of rights to Finnish brand Nokia, the Chinese company HMD Global, is making every effort to draw the attention of the world. Just yesterday, Nokia signed a multi-year patent agreement with Xiaomi, and today we learned that HMD Global is working with well-known optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss to improve the photography capabilities of smartphones.

Nokia and Xiaomi co-operate on a multi-year business cooperation agreement, involving patent and licensing. Thanks to this, Nokia smartphones will now feature features previously reserved for Xiaomi smartphones and, for example, MIUI overlays, and Xiaomi smartphones will feature solutions from the new Nokia smartphones. Nokia will also provide Xiaomi with its network technologies and cooperate with Xiaomi to further develop networking solutions for the business sector. The conference also included information on co-operation in the Internet segment of Things and virtual and expanded reality.

The second message is a co-operation with Carl Zeiss, which will make the newly manufactured Nokia smartphones will have the optics of the manufacturer. Earlier, Zeiss had cooperated with Sony for 20 years. Carl Zeiss is supposed to deliver not only optics but also image processors and software for smartphones.

It is worth recalling that Nokia has worked with Zeiss before about 2004. The result of the cooperation were the cameras highly regarded in terms of photo opportunities for the Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphones.
