Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
1 Corinthians 9:24
Every believer was recreated by God with a purpose to fulfill here on earth (Ephesians 2:10). This purpose is what Paul refers to as race and its fulfillment as running. So ask yourself: 1) what race has God set for me 2) I'm I running the race? The answers to these questions can only be given by the Holy Spirit(1 Cor 2:9-11).
When God created Adam, the first thing He did for him was to give him a purpose - which was to dress the garden in Eden(Gen 2:7,8&15). However, the moment man sinned and lost fellowship with God, he was sent out of the garden(Gen 3:24); in other words, he lost his purpose.
Therefore, when a man loses his fellowship with God, he also loses his purpose. In a similar way, when a man does not have fellowship with God, he has no purpose.
A man without knowledge of his purpose lives with no sense of urgency and keeps on jumping from one activity to another and person to person seeking fulfillment and joy but finds none. The fact is until you know your purpose, life would be meaningless to you and until you fellowship with God, you will never find this purpose.
LIFE APPLICATION
If you want to know and fulfil your divine assignment here on earth, then you must fellowship consistently with the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER
Lord, let me know your will for my life and grant me strength to do it.
