My thoughts:
It all about fulfilling short term needs versus having a long term focus to achieve what you ultimately want. If a plan is made, although hard one needs to stick to it - otherwise achieving the goals will seems farther and farther away. In the end it is all about commitment - "stick to it -ism". :)
For e.g.: if the goal is to be healthy and one continues to eat junk food, a craving is satisfied now. However, It is not keeping one's eye on the ball regarding creating a healthier body for the future.
