I think this picture very much represents motherhood for me. House in a bit of a mess. Wearing my pj's today. No makeup. Hair not done. And I'm pretty sure my kids love me anyway. How do I know this?
Obviously! The massive chocolate cake in the middle of the picture! Quickest way to a mother's heart.
I have to deal with messes, dirty floors, wild amounts of energy, whining, getting up in the middle of the night, and any number of problems that come up at school, with friends, and in daily life. But I am cultivating little adults! And they will be amazing someday (even though they already are).
My kids do funny things, like turn boxes into trains.
And make robots out of marble toys.
They climb things, and track the dirt into the house.
They put legos together and forget to put the pieces back.
They are using their imaginations, playing, and becoming remarkable individuals. That mess I was talking about? I'd take it any day.
But I still need to go out with friends and be "me" sometimes too!
My house is exactly the same way! With 3 little ones it's all in a days work, and another day and another day and another day lol.
And you know what? I am glad to see this. You are not hiding behind a fake life. You are embracing what is perfectly normal and showing us what a fun life you are all having!
Enjoy the cake! I personally would have been eating it by the shovel :p
