The true monarchy: And they anointed David king over Israel, as the LORD had promised through Samuel. 1 Chronicles 11:3

The Bible tells us how the Reign of David began, a young man anointed by the spirit of God to fulfill the conquest of the promised land, Canaan, and establish a lasting Kingdom that would establish permanent peace for the descendants of Abraham. David constituted a true monarchy in the political sense, because the foundation of the monarchy is not the search for wealth as it happens with tyrannies, but the search for virtue and spiritual excellence.
Samuel, who was the first King of Israel, although he demonstrated great courage as a warrior defending and setting an example for his people, he was unable to complete the conquest of the holy land, and also sinned gravely against the Lord, and it was mainly for this reason that God took away his blessing from him and his house, at the end of his life Samuel finally died in a battle against the Philistines.
This is how the First Book of Chronicles summarizes to us the reasons of why the Lord removed his grace and mercy to Saul and favored his successor David:
"Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse" 1 Chronicles 10:13-14.
David, on the other hand, was an intelligent young man, and unlike Saul, David gave his heart to the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), and because of this closeness to the Lord, the Kingdom was delivered to him:
"All Israel came together to David at Hebron and said, ´We are your own flesh and blood. In the past, even while Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the LORD your God said to you, ´You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.´
When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, he made a covenant with them at Hebron before the LORD, and they anointed David king over Israel, as the LORD had promised through Samuel" 1 Chronicles 11:1-3.
