In today's video we discuss five reasons why Monero could be superior to Bitcoin. These reasons are based solely on opinion and are listed in no particular order of importance.

1 Safety
2 Protects Negotiating Positions
3 Protects Against Price Discrimination
4 Fungible
5 ASIC Resistant

What are your thoughts? Do you think Monero is superior to Bitcoin? What do you think the future holds for Monero and other privacy coins? Please share your comments below.

I think PIVX offers better privacy as well as optional transparency. Privacy on demand is better than privacy by default. PIVX is also nearly instant transaction.

Optional privacy is not better - that's just a fact. If privacy is optional, then tracing is much easier than if every transaction is private.

@champagnecrypto The crypto general, get these maggots in line haha (military reference)

I like Monero very much and it is totally plausible that it overtakes BTC, but I doubt it. To do so, it'd need mass adoption well-beyond what we see today. Although us freedom-lovers understand why privacy is critically important, the uninformed masses have been led to believe that its primary appeal is crime. Therefore, I don't see it as a competition as much as I see it as just another option for specific uses. BTC can be a non-private store of wealth like Gold and it will just sit there idle. When I need to actually transact and have all the real fears you've cited, perhaps I'll consider Monero then. I was reminded of a quote today on Twitter that I really liked: "When privacy is criminalized, only criminals have privacy". source: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Phil_Zimmermann - creator of PGP - the encryption protocol that we can thank for much of the crypto we enjoy today, directly or indirectly. Think on that!

Bitcoin is the MySpace of crytpocurrencies...

And now with the battle against antminer jujuju that will be awesome for the project if they win. Regards

wow never hear of https://athcoinindex.com/ - #goldennugget

I think it has the potential to overtake bitcoin BUT if and when it happens it will take some time.

Other factors can really push XMR to the moon tho.. blacklist, strict taxes or crazy regulations will be good for Monero... (IMO)

when bitcoin was big on the darknet everyone thought it was anonymous and that was imo the reason it became so popular at first.

Now people praise the open ledger

I really like monero and it is one of my favorite coins.

The community is as great as the coin

I think that crypto must find equilibrium between privacy and regulation, or the big player will never get in

I think that any equilibrium is not realistically possible, because the very foundation of cryptos goes against everything the state stands for.

Monero is the king of privacy coins. If everyone is honest most people came to blockchain because of privacy.

Privacy and anonymity are the keys to crypto mass adoption. Like you, I see monero gaining more market share as it’s profile continues to rise.

so many privacy coins. monero seems to be bitcoin of privacy

I am all for MOnero. However, taking over Bitcoin is something I am a little of wary of. Considering the widespread net of Bitcoin, it will take quite a while for Monero to reach there. Currently very few Crytppcurrencies are actually in circulation where they are used for actual day to day transactions. So for Monero to reach Bitcoin, it will have to be widely accepted. That said, it surely is a rising star to look out for.

Could you do a small video on Dogecoin ? I am very much interested to know more about it.

I am following you.

I think there can only be 1 digital gold. Bitcoin is not competing to become the next currency, but the next gold standard.

Doesn’t make Monero a viable competitor to Bitcoin.
In fact that’s such a laughable concept even the Monero people play the litecoin scam of being the second best and hoping no one understands that’s not how money works.

Hm ... I don't know at the end all what is takes is the faith of the users and masses. This is the field where Bitcoin has huge advantage

I might have believed more in this but with hardfork "MoneroV" on its way, I highly doubt it will as it is too early to fork monero in my opinion, it will achieve great heights but won't be be close to BTC. Take a look at Zclassic /Bitcoinprivate.

Thanks for your reply. MoneroV is independent from Monero and the timing of the fork whether sooner or later will not affect how the original Monero works. Why should we take a look at Zclassic or BitcoinPrivate? Do you think they are better? If so then why?

Made this meme myself:)

Saya pikir itu memiliki potensi untuk menyalip bitcoin tetapi jika dan ketika itu terjadi itu akan memakan waktu.

Champagne why are you on you tube if there are no rewards?

How do you see the fact that their supply will last only till May of 2022 ?
That kind of limited supply in that much limited time should have some bearing on the price, which seems a bit under priced? Or do you think usability is a limitation.
Thoughts welcome.....
