"[..] now (the government) is gradually evolved to the point where the people take orders from the government. And the people are conditioned even in the schools to think that that is o.k. [..] And since the schools are run by the government, that the government has gone out of its way to make sure that the curricula for the students is such that they teach youngsters that this relationship is the best relationship, it's the natural relationship. You should turn to government to solve all their personal problems, national problems, community problems. Government, government, government. Because that is where the power and money goes. So what happens is that the students are tought - as I was tought in school - that everything should be for the greater good of the greater number. Well, that sounds like a great idea, so they believe it! Greater good of the greater number always translate into the greater good for the state, because the state represents the greater number - theoretically. That is what they are told."

[..] inzwischen ist (die Regierung) allmählich so weit entwickelt, dass das Volk Befehle von der Regierung entgegennimmt. Und das Volk ist sogar in den Schulen darauf konditioniert, das für angemessen zu halten. [..] Und da die Schulen von der Regierung betrieben werden, hat die Regierung alles daran gesetzt, um sicherzustellen, dass die Lehrpläne für die Schüler so gestaltet sind, dass sie den Jugendlichen beibringen, dass diese Beziehung die beste Beziehung ist, dass es die natürliche Beziehung ist. Du solltest dich an die Regierung wenden, um all deine persönlichen Probleme zu lösen, deine nationalen Probleme, deine Probleme in der Gemeinschaft. Regierung, Regierung, Regierung. Denn dorthin gehen die Macht und das Geld. Was also passiert, ist, dass die Schülerinnen und Schüler lernen - wie ich es in der Schule gelernt habe -, dass alles zum Wohle der größeren Anzahl sein sollte. Nun, das klingt nach einer großartigen Idee, also glauben sie daran! Das größere Wohl der größeren Anzahl bedeutet immer das größere Wohl für den Staat, denn der Staat repräsentiert die größere Anzahl - theoretisch. Das wird ihnen gesagt.

"And so what happens is the children come out of school, taking that all the welfare programs, and the labor laws, and the building codes, and all of the regulations on our lives, and all these encroaching forms of governmental control over us is that it is good, because it is for the greater good of the greater number."

Und so kommt es, dass die Kinder die Schule verlassen und sagen, dass alle Sozialprogramme, die Arbeitsgesetze, die Bauvorschriften und alle Vorschriften, die unser Leben betreffen, und all diese übergreifenden Formen der staatlichen Kontrolle über uns, dass diese gut sind, weil sie zum größeren Wohl der größeren Anzahl sind.

"Now the really tragic part of this is not only that that is contrary to the principles of personal liberty. But the kids come out of school and they go into teacher's collage. And now they are the next run teaching the new wave, and so it does not take very long - it takes a couple of generations of this - you know, fourty years, fifty years, and you got a self perpetuating mechanism that is really deadly for the nation, because it will crank out children who are totally imbued with the idea that they should serve the state."

Der nun wirklich tragische Teil daran ist nicht nur, dass dies den Prinzipien der persönlichen Freiheit widerspricht. Außerdem kommen die Kinder aus der Schule und gehen in die Ausbildung zum Lehrer. Und jetzt sind sie beim nächsten Durchlauf dabei, um die neue Welle [Schüler] zu lehren, und so dauert es nicht sehr lange - es dauert ein paar Generationen dieser Sache - vierzig Jahre, fünfzig Jahre, und man hat einen sich selbst verewigenden Mechanismus, der wirklich tödlich ist für das Land, denn er wird Kinder rauskurbeln, die völlig von der Idee durchdrungen sind, dass sie dem Staat dienen sollten.

"I think a parent needs to know that. Parents today should know that, because they have all already been subjected to it themselves. There is nobody reading this text that is going to be surprised by this, because they are going to say, "Oh, yes! That is what I was tought in school." But I think it is important to be aware of this and that maybe that is not a good thing. And if you agree with me that that is definitely not a good thing, then it is time to do something about it."

Ich denke, Eltern sollten das wissen. Die Eltern von heute sollten das wissen, denn sie haben es selbst schon erlebt. Niemand, der diesen Text liest, wird davon überrascht sein, denn er wird sagen: "Oh, ja! Das hat man mir in der Schule beigebracht." Doch ich denke, es ist wichtig, sich dessen bewusst zu sein, und dass das vielleicht nicht gut ist. Und wenn du mir zustimmst, dass das definitiv keine gute Sache ist, dann ist es an der Zeit, etwas dagegen zu unternehmen.
