Great video, Jeff. I agree with you on the Index (passive) vs active investing. I personally like having a large portion of my retirement in index funds (usually mutual funds) and then have a small percentage (5-10%) in actively managed ETFs and/or specific sectors (at the moment I like financials). Having that extra 5-10% flexibility allows me to somewhat consistently get just a little better than market returns. If/when I ever get extra opportunity funds available I will probably flip the ratio for that part of the portfolio and use 5-10% index and 85-90% active. I also love the P2P lending. I have been investing in LendingClub for a few months now. I am somewhat conservative, and as such only averaging 9%, but I am content with it at the moment. @ ericjordan
