Using Your Accumulated Cash Back

This post shows you how to use your accumulated Cash Back to make a purchase and earning Cash Back on the purchase.

Finding the Merchant

I am in Jersey Mike's and find I do not have a lot of cash in my pockets. I really don't want to use my credit card. I think about how I will pay for my food. Then I remember the The Life App is on my cell phone and I have been accumulating Cash Back into my account.

I open The Life App and locate Jersey Mike's.

Found it!!

I select Jersey Mike's and enter the cost of the food I am purchasing.

I verify that I entered the amount correctly and press "Continue".

Paying with Cash Back

I don't want to use my credit card so I click "Apply Cash Back" and enter the amount I will use to pay for the food purchase. I immediately see that I will earn Cash Back on the purchase. I click "Apply" and then "Complete Purchase".

After quickly reading the confirmation, I press "Place Order" and the eGift card for Jersey Mike's appears.

I tap the eGift card to display the bar code that the cashier can scan.

I show the cashier the bar code. The cashier scans the bar code then hands me my food purchase. As I take the purchase I remind the cashier that I am a Jersey Mike's reward member.

Recap

I paid for my Jersey Mike's food purchase with my accumulated Cash Back.

• I earned Cash Back on my purchase, and
• I earned Jersey Mike's rewards too.

That is a WIN-WIN!!!

This post talks about the The Life App from a perspective of using the app in the United States and in my local area. In other countries the percentages are still based on your total purchase and you earn cash back in your local currency (USD or Canadian dollars).
