How to raise funds for a project

Hello!

We are looking at ways and advice on how to raise funds in order move on from early stage. We are not talking about ico’s at least not at the moment, we are not fond of them. We have in mind small amounts that will cover immediate expenses of each phase.

Facts: We are not professional developers. We can follow instructions/tutorials/advice, basic troubleshooting/bugs, write simple code and can work side by side with programmers. At the moment we haven’t got a solid team, we work with people who volunteer their time, nobody is getting paid. We hold no altcoins, nor we have money to invest.

The story

When I first heard about ethereum and that it supported a Turing complete language, my first thought was holy fuck, this ain’t just about money anymore, this is about designing our own economies, to say the least, better yet now we can design our own futures.

Since the thing I love the most is music it was a no brainer what to do next. We sat down with a few fellow musicians and started discussing how finally we can change things. Take music from the hands of greedy bastards and make it truly free while the creators and everyone involved in the process are rewarded and that is everyone who truly contributes something including the fans, or as we like to call them audiophiles or music lovers. So we wanted something that when people listen to music value is going to be created and distributed accordingly.

Please take into consideration that we are not professionals of any kind nor we plan to become, we are not professional developers, we are not professional musicians and many of us get sand in our vagina when you call us artists. We are just ordinary people forced in slave labor that pays just enough to be above the threshold of starvation. However we love what we do, we live and breath through music, technology, science and philosophy. We possess the knowledge and skills that allow us to research, comprehend and deal with these complex matters.

Our approach has been to develop a philosophy and figure out the corresponding aspects of this philosophy to the technical side of things. So far so good. We have a paper were we present the philosophy, outline the features, functions along with uml diagrams and other details. We call this the vapor-paper and once it’s audited by pro devs it is going to become the white paper.

We start with the vapor-paper, not because it is vaporware, nor a blue paper, on the contrary we want to differentiate ourselves from the rest who put up an abstract paper and manage to raise millions in an ico(which is not entirely bad though). We all want mass adoption and that is going to happen only when we address the matter of how value is created*. For us the only way we can achieve that is taking one step at a time to make sure we understand what we are doing and be understood. We need knowledge first to establish trust.

* when I try to explain cryptocurrencies to most people, the aspect of where the value comes from seems to be the most difficult to grasp

Our next step is getting everything together, establishing an online presence (website, forum, etc), evaluate collaborative tools and bring in a couple of serious developers to speed things up. Then we will see where we go from there.

I would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions and answer any questions.

Be good and have lots of fun.
