Why not just upvote posts you enjoy reading and why not just put effort into your own posts, so people will upvote those for their content?

Agreed.. and that's exactly what i have been doing as well, however I have noticed that i do enjoy content that some members put out more than others so i think its important to build relationships with the people whose content you particularly enjoy.

Couldn't agree more. Following the right people and writing meaningful comments on their posts (so not the spam from the user I responded to), is the right way to go here! I hope you manage to find nice people to follow and talk to :-)

Matter of fact I like the way you think and approach the community we have here.. So in turn Im following you now..lol Cheers

Aww well thank you very much :-)

I've just seen so many follow for follow posts and comments lately. Beggers for upvotes and such... While I just keep on thinking this upvote button should be used for articles we like. Which in turn makes good quality rise to the top. Many new members signing up seemed to simply have gotten the Get rich while doing what you do on Facebook speech, which doesn't really invite better quality :-)

It feels rude to not follow back, which is exactly the problem here. I follow many people for the topics I care about (gaming, food, some photography) and I really want to support them. If I start following everyone back though, they get lost in my feed, filled with articles I don't necessarily care much about. This feels like a disservice to the people I follow for their content. Actually, I've also unfollowed a few people, simply because they resteem too lightly and often. It clogs up my feed aswell.

Anyway! That text has grown too long, I'll stop now :D
