One of my favorite part-time jobs as a music lover is to get paid to rate songs on radio stations. Legal appearances to rate songs are usually rare, but over the past few years I've received a lot of paid music research from a market research panel called Quest Mindshare.
These music surveys pay in the range of $ 30 to $ 50 per gig, depending on the number of songs that need to be evaluated.
Quest Mindshare is a Canadian-based consumer research company that works with hundreds of radio stations in dozens of markets across the United States. The goal is for radio stations to understand what kind of music viewers want to hear.
For example, the Chicago classic rock station and the Atlanta classic rock station are technically the same genre, and each listener may want to listen to different types of bands and songs. For example, Chicago listeners may want to hear what is most considered standard classic rock, while Atlanta listeners may want to hear more Southern rock.
Therefore, Quest Mindshare sends several music listening surveys throughout the year to registered participants who help shape the types of music played on local radio stations.
Get rewarded for listening to music
After completing a Swagbucks screener survey, I learned about Quest Mindshare.
However, you can join the QuestMindshare Panel simply by visiting the company website. You need to register an account. This includes entering basic demographic information about yourself and creating a profile about yourself that lists the types of music you are listening to. The most important thing is your age and your location. That's because it's a way to match the music polls you're looking for users in a particular market.
Living in the middle of Missouri, I was able to complete a Quest Mindshare music survey in both St. Louis and Kansas City radio markets.
QuestMindshare will send you a brief review by email as new surveys become available to users in your area. The screener survey includes a list of radio stations in your area. Click on the station you listen to regularly to make sure it's suitable for your survey. Often, these surveys are looking for users who are listening to a particular genre, so not all surveys are available. Also, you must be someone who listens to the radio for at least an hour a day.
If you qualify for a music survey, you will be asked to listen to a short audio sample of the song. Usually within 10 seconds. Next, evaluate how much you like or hate the song, and whether you're tired of listening to it on the radio. Some investigations ask you to do this
