In a recent TED talk, Paul Tudor Jones stated how the ever-increasing wealth gap will most likely lead to the demise of our civilization, as the attempt to close the gap will most likely result in “revolution, taxes or war.”
Apart from pointing out the inherent dangers of the single-minded pursuit of profit, Jones pointed out that the wealth gap is “unsustainable,” and that a change in the methods of doing business is necessary.
He added that the over-emphases on executive compensation and shareholders returns have had a negative effect on the country – on labor, consumers, and society as a whole.
