Have you noticed lately how Officials in America think they are beautifying their Cities by setting up costly art works? Metal statues, color cement light fixtures, wall with graphic designs, sculptures.

I have noticed in the city near where I live, the past few years their has been millions of dollars spent on these objects. But the downtown area is falling apart. Shops are closing. More homeless people are on the streets. The Official are asking for more money.

I see more Tax Payers money being spent on things that have no use or are unnecessary, rather than giving funding to projects in need such as local school who are in need of better lunch programs or creating wildfire special units.

Cities should be finding ways to spend money wisely such as investing in solar lights instead of paying high prices to the electric companies each month. Instead of paying one person millions of dollars for an ugly art object, ask a local artist who works for free to paint a mural. Bring down graffiti crime by supporting local community artists. Create a local committee of citizens dedicated to finding ways to cut costs through more efficient means, without cutting important resources.

By making city cost efficient, Officials can work within a budget instead of raising taxes, and alienating citizens who live there. The next time I see a local Mayor on TV, I want to hear how he or she has made a different for the people who live in their city, and not how they have made a name for themselves bringing in more tax payer money.
