Sometimes I feel like a beggar looking for a handout from the whales on Steemit; not sure this platform will work for the masses...

    I feel you and agree with you. I don't expect to make a lot of money here, but I don't want to ask for upvotes and followers every time I post something. I doubt my upvotes and posts will ever amount to much here. But I will keep trying.
