I would like to share this well preserved 5 Colones Costa Rica paper money.
First of all, I would like to thank my mom, which made this well preserved, never circulated 5 colones paper money. So the story is that when she got her salary over 25 years ago, she decided to save most of her salary. I guess it was about 50% of her salary. She saved around 200 colones in 5 colones paper money bills. Just to understand the value of it, 1 USD is around 580 colones in today's value. so 5 colones is less than a penny. She used to earn about 500 colones per month (less than 1 USD in today's value) , she saved 200 colones. Today the 5 colones paper money is valued around 5 USD per each. She gave me the paper money as a gift and a way to start my coins and paper money collection, it s around 1 thousand USD in today's value.
It is a well preserved bill.
